And here comes the end. I’m more than three weeks into the four week program here at Jesus College, Oxford University. It’s hard to believe that on Saturday morning, I will be collecting my luggage from my room, hopping on a bus, and headed to Heathrow to begin the journey back to “The Good Life”. It sure has been a ride here. But I’m finally starting to wrap my head around the fact that it’s time to go home.
It’s time to see my family and my friends. Time to drive my truck, and do so on the CORRECT side of the road (Sorry England and Commonwealth countries). Time to get back into the normality of life.
Of course, I still have nearly five more days here, and I intend to fully enjoy them! But the time will go by quickly! By 10:30 tomorrow morning, I will be finished with class here. Then, I will have one exam on Thursday and one exam on Friday. Without a doubt, studying will consume a decent chunk of my time over the next few days. I intend on doing as well on these exams as I can! Believe it or not, I came to England to actually learn something, not just to have fun! Of course, I also had well more than my fair share of fun along the way!
What’s the best part of this trip been? Boy, that is a difficult question to answer! There have been so many great things about this trip. Being in Oxford has been an experience in and of itself! The classes have been extremely interesting and insightful. London was an absolutely wonderful day to visit and spend several days in! The Shakespeare plays have been interesting and fun. The palaces have been opulent and gorgeous. I have become better friends with some people that I knew already and made quite a few new friends here along the way.
I am slowly starting to prepare for my journey home. Since I brought two weeks worth of clothing, I was able to already pack one of my suitcases completely and I am working on packing the other as I go. I want to enjoy as much of my time here as I can, and I would rather not be bothered with things such as packing.
