I had a lot of fun at Euro Disneyland today. We left at about 9:00 this morning, and it was nice enough that I did not need to bring a coat, I just wore a t-shirt. It took us nearly 30 minutes to get out of the parking garage because we had trouble getting around one corner to get out. We were finally able to make it out, however. It then took us about an hour and a half to get to Euro Disney. About half of the class went to Euro Disney, while the other half went to another amusement park near Paris. At 11:00am, we got off the bus and went to get into Disney. First, we went into Walt Disney Studios. We quickly realized that not bringing coats was a bad idea, as it got really cold. We first boarded a tram that took us on a “behind the scenes” tour of the Magic of Disney. We saw some props from various movies, then stopped at an attraction. There was a semi truck on a road. All of a sudden, there was an earthquake. The shaking of the truck started a fire which then spread to the nearby power line. Soon, there were several areas of fire. Then, the whole place flooded, and knocked the truck down. That was a really cool thing to see. We then looked at two sets. One was of London, complete with British taxis and a double-decker bus. The other set was after a bomb had gone off. There were just masses of destruction, including a buried car and a derailed subway.
Three of us were still really cold after the ride, so we went to buy jackets while the rest of our group went on a roller coaster. There was not a huge selection of men’s sweatshirts, but I was able to find one that I liked. After getting our jackets, Ingrid, one other girl, and I got a drink. We were still waiting for the rest of our group, so we got in line at the Hollywood Hotel. The rest of our group (Kjell Tore, Julie, Solvieg, and Simen) met us just in time to go on the ride with us. This is the ride that simulates being in a free falling elevator. It would have been bad on a full stomach, but was a lot of fun for me. The feeling of falling was great, especially when my camera would hang in mid-air, not attached to anything. By this time, we decided to have lunch. I had a pretty decent pizza, but it was too big for one person. I had to share 25% with Simen.
We decided to next go to the actual Disneyland. We first got in line at the Phantom Manor. The line was moving pretty quickly for a while, then got slowed down considerably by technical difficulties. When we finally got in, I enjoyed it. The animatronics were very well done, although it was not that scary at all. We next went to the Space Mountain: Mission 2, and got FastPass tickets. They were good between 5:10 and 5:40, and we had about an hour and a half to do something else. First, Simen and I went shopping so that I could pick something out for my sister. Then, we went on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. That was a lot of fun. It was a pretty long ride and once again had the great animatronics.
As we were walking back to go to Space Mountain, we ran into one of the parades. It completely cut us off from where we needed to be, and we had to wait awhile. We were finally able to hurry over to Space Mountain and get in the FastPass line. It was well worth the wait. I had never been on a roller coaster before, so it was a lot of fun. It was a short, but wild ride. I only wish that I would have had enough time to go on it again. At this point, we headed back to the bus and drove back to the hotel. I walked to a mall with two guys, and we ate at McDonald’s. I then went to the grocery store to get some bread for the guy’s in my room. When I got back, I worked some on photos and on this post. It is time to go to bed, but I will be able to sleep in a little bit tomorrow morning.
