Stratford upon Avon was a great little town! It was filled with all kinds of small town English Charm. And the views and sights were astounding! While there, I had the opportunity to visit the Holy Trinity Church. This is the church where William Shakespeare was baptized, married, and buried. We were able to see his grave as well as the grave of his wife, Anne Hathaway.
We spent a bit of time walking along the river running through the town. While it was the first time that I saw it in person, I have seen this river before. It made an appearance in an episode of Top Gear, a show on the BBC. In this particular episode, Hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May build a hovercraft. They then test it out on the river here. And it is met with…um…little success and many obstacles, in typical Top Gear fashion.
To conclude our evening in Stratford, we saw a production of King Henry IV: Part II. This was a very well put together play! At times, I struggled to understand just what they were saying, but overall I was able to piece the very interesting story together. The acting was superb, the theatre great, and I really had a lot of fun!
